Here's something we all know. Bathrooms get wet. From showers to sinks to baths, there is no way around keeping some water from splashing your bathroom floor. Tile is the absolute best material for absorbing water and resisting damage. It is also one of the easiest floor materials to clean. Okay. So we know tile is the best option for our bathroom floors, does that limit my creative style when I want to renovate? Absolutely not. Due to the variety of tiling materials, you can create almost any set of shape, patterns or colors you can imagine. Materials
The most common materials bathroom tile is made out of is brick, marble, ceramic, glass, porcelain, and travertine. There are no bad options here. Every one of these tile options will be able to absorb water and resist damage. All of these options vary slightly and some have certain strengths. For example, glass tile is the best tile at handling large amount of water. It is a good option if you are particularly concerned about slips, trips, and falls. If this you and you just don't like the look of glass tiles, a smaller-sized tile of a different material will improve the gripping of the floor. Another options is to include an anti-slip finish on top of the tile. Another example of a particular material's strength is the brick option. Brick tile is a long-lasting, practical, and durable option. 

Other uses
Tile is a great option not only for bathroom floors, but for showers and bathroom walls as well. When selecting a tile for a shower, it is highly recommend that you consider an anti-slip material and/or finish, at least on the floor. Another thing to consider when selecting a tile for your shower is the color. The color is obviously up to you, but it might be a good idea to consider using colors that reduce the visibility of water spots. 

It is easy to overlook the fact that the walls in your bathroom are exposed to lots of moisture and vapor. People understandable consider their shower and bathroom floor first when it comes to exposure to water, but it is important to remember the walls. Damage occurs to paint and wallpaper over time when exposed to enough moisture and heat. For this reason, it is good to consider using tile for your bathroom walls as well. Tiled walls are a beautiful addition to any bathroom and will make your bathroom look clean and classy.
